Holiday Havoc

It's kind of ironic to be writing this just after I published my "Time for Thankfulness" post.

If you're wondering why you didn't hear from me Friday or Saturday this week, it's because Steve is again in the hospital.

He and I have been trading a cold back and forth for a few weeks. By Friday afternoon, he was looking pretty rough, and I was keeping a very close eye on him.

Finally, on Saturday morning, I had to rush Steve to the hospital…he was in severe congestive heart failure.

Once they had gotten him out of danger, the doctors informed us that Steve is also in the early stages of pneumonia (at least they caught it early!).

So, Steve is still in the hospital for now. The good news is he is NOT considered critical…but, they are treating the pneumonia and monitoring his heart to ensure he remains out of danger.

Our dog, Snowball, has been lying on the floor by the front door all night and morning wondering why Daddy hasn't come home. I'm going to take Snowball to the hospital to visit his Daddy later this afternoon…that should make both my guys very happy.

In the meantime, please keep Steve in your prayers.

UPDATE: December 6th…

I can't thank you all enough for your prayers and support.

Steve came home from the hospital yesterday evening! He is still being treated as an outpatient for pneumonia, but he's stable and home again.

I, Snowball, and all 8 cats are very happy to have him back.

Hi Holly,

My sincerest hopes that Steve recovers soon, and you can enjoy a great holiday season together.

You have been such an inspiration to me in South Africa.

My prayers and best wishes are with you.

Chin up, best regards

Udo

Holly and Steve, my prayers are with you both. Somewhere inside we all know that God has a Divine Plan for us, but it certainly can be stressful, until the Plan is revealed. It is so frightening when a loved one is ill. My prayer is that you both will have peace and tranquility during this healing process. Yes, Holly - you need to heal as much as Steve does.

Dear Holly,

I will surely keep Steve (and you, also) in my prayers.

Sinners get heard first, so I'm at the top of the list.

Be well, Steve.

G'day Holly, Steve & Snowball,

A heartfelt "Amen" to the comments above. Even though we've only just met on the net, your inspiration is motivating me to build so I can be in a better position to help & inspire others as you do. Judith and I are keeping you and Steve in our prayers and wished our Belgian Shepherd "furchild", Meg, could be there to comfort Snowball.

Lotsa love from downunder,

John R

Holly I am sorry to hear about your husband ( Steve ). I hope that his recovery is fast and healthy and be home for christmas. I hope that you have family near by to help you with your healing also. It is very stressful to have a member of the family ill. I know first hand how it feels and believe me you will need someone to comfort you.

Healthy recovery, Steve
